Other: - Full-time. There will also be a requirement for travel to client locations, which will be programme dependent

Role Summary

As a Programme Manager for Prism Improvement, you will be expected to take responsibility for the management and tracking of the delivery of our programmes, working alongside our Subject Matter Experts and Improvement specialists as a core member of our delivery team.

You will be responsible for supporting both the Prism and client teams to deliver against agreed timelines and activities, which will include setting out the approach to programme management with delivery teams as well as ensuring there is an appropriate governance structure set up to enable the tracking and reporting of progress against plans. You will also lead on ensuring that all client deliverables are produced on time, are of a high quality and meet the requirements of the client.

As well as working with the delivery team, you will work closely with the Head of Programme Delivery to inform the oversight of each programme which will include coordinating regular team checkpoints and producing information to demonstrate progress against KPIs and deliverables.

There will also be opportunity to work with the Prism corporate team to further develop the Prism delivery model.

Key Responsibilities of a Programme Manager

  • Manage and track the delivery of Prism programmes.
  • Set up and manage the programme governance structure, both for the client and as part of Prism’s delivery model.
  • Ensure that all activities and milestones can be supported by relevant and appropriate evidence.
  • Collate and track performance against agreed KPIs.
  • Ensure that all documents produced by the delivery team meet Prism quality standards.
  • Provide updates as required to the Prism senior leadership on progress of the programme

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Extensive experience of working as part of a programme team to drive improvements.
  • Ability to use your knowledge of programme management to shape and drive the delivery of Prism Improvement programmes.
  • Ability to provide advice and coaching to Prism delivery teams and client teams on best practice for managing a programme.
  • Build strong relationships with the delivery team and client teams to ensure progress against deliverables is maintained throughout the programme.
  • Ability to hold Prism delivery teams to account for progress against deliverables, supporting them to achieve key milestones on time.
  • Ability to produce documents that are of a high standard as required to support the progress of deliverables.
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines and work autonomously as required.
  • Adaptability and resilience to fluctuating pressures and deadlines.

Essential

Education

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Experience in programme management of large-scale improvement programmes
  • Experience of working with and engaging a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience of successful implementation of quality/service improvement programmes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply knowledge of programme management tools and techniques to support management of Prism programmes
  • Ability to plan and implement a programme/project from conception through to completion
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with multiple stakeholders to coordinate programme activity
  • Able to drive change and enable achievement of programme milestones
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinking skills – ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise
  • Ability to produce high quality client deliverables
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
  • Be aware of any opportunities for business development for Prism programmes

Desirable

  • Programme/project management qualification
  • Evidence of achievement within large scale improvement programmes
  • Previous experience within the NHS or Healthcare sector
