We have an outstanding opportunity for an International Student Services Program Coordinator.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director for Student Services & Compliance, the International Student Services Program Coordinator oversees International Student Services (ISS) front office services by providing direct support to international students in person and virtually as well as by phone and email. The Program Coordinator manages and supervises a team of student employees, which includes hiring, onboarding, and on-going training. This position also supports student services & compliance by serving as a Designated School Official (DSO). The Program Coordinator provides quarterly SEVIS registration support for the Assistant Director and SEVIS Coordinator to help ensure continued compliance with federal reporting deadlines.
As a Designated School Official, the ISS Program Coordinator supports ISS by processing routine non-advising immigration requests for incoming, current, and former F-1/J-1 international students. This includes processing travel signatures, letters of support (SSN/ITIN), document requests, SEVP reporting, etc. This position allows the immigration advisors to focus on the complex requests which require nuanced review, student follow up, and a deeper knowledge of F-1/J-1 federal rules and regulations. The ISS Program Coordinator contributes to institutional compliance with federal regulations by assisting with the quarterly SEVIS reporting processes which includes academic program updates, enrollment-related requests, or other compliance requests.
The ISS Program Coordinator helps maintain and update student records in Terra Dotta, SEVIS, and UW student database to ensure University compliance with U.S. federal immigration regulations. The ISS reception team is the first point of contact for students contacting the office. It is critical that accurate information is provided and all student employees have correct information/training.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with international students in an academic environment.
- Careful attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure to meet various deadlines.
- Ability to learn, understand, and communicate complex immigration regulations as well as university policy.
- Work experience as a DSO and with the SEVIS immigration system.
- Experience and comfort using a variety of platforms such as MS Teams, Outlook, Office 365, Zoom, and an immigration software like Terra Dotta - ISSS, Sunapsis, or Ellucian ISSM.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
