The College
The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) is the largest School in UWL and a major provider of pre-registration and post-qualifying nursing, midwifery, paramedic, ODP, public health and apprenticeship education in London and Berkshire (undergraduate to doctoral).
We are ranked as number one in England for student experience on our nursing courses in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, while our ever-popular mental health nursing courses are top in the UK for satisfaction with assessment and second in the UK for satisfaction with the course in the Guardian's University Guide 2023.
The Richard Wells Research Centre, based at the University of West London, conducts an active programme of research focusing on improving patient safety. The Centre conducts primary research, undertakes guideline development and review and, through its work as an internationally accredited centre for evidence-based practice, carries out comprehensive systematic reviews.
All CNMH academic staff are expected to teach on any of the UWL campuses, including Brentford and Reading, and engage with blended learning activities which can include online activities as required.
The Role
To fulfil an academic role focused on generating research income and impact, establishing collaborative research and service improvement partnerships nationally and internationally with academic, clinical, voluntary sector and commercial partners and making a substantial contribution to translating and implementing research through education programmes and practice development initiatives.
The Person
The successful candidate will have proven experience in leadership of nursing research including generating grant income.
Another key skill would the development of research in collaboration with nursing academics, the successful candidate would also have evidence of supervision to completion of PhD students.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, academics, and support and technical staff. This will also include working with a range of partners including the NHS, Independent, Voluntary and Private sector.
