Job description
The overall purpose of the Production Technician is to ensure the safe and efficient running of the production unit to achieve the business targets, complying with our Zero Harm and PSM policies, working collaboratively as a member of the shift production technician team.
- Achieve and maintain competence through training, validation and re-validation in the required specific process technician role berths.
- Ensure that a Zero Harm mindset and the management of process safety is applied to all process activities.
- Follow operating instructions and procedures to ensure the plant is operated safely, efficiently and effectively and in an emergency, respond according to the emergency procedure to ensure the plant is put into a safe state.
- Interpret data to determine the best course of action to ensure the process remains within normal operation parameters whilst maximising efficiency and achieving the desired quality.
- Monitor and maintain equipment ensuring that defects are reported and carry out scheduled or breakdown maintenance as required within the ability of the available team.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance and complete EIP paperwork to allow Work Control Permits to be issued.
- Participate in emergency exercises and all EHS training to ensure competence is maintained and the assets can continue to be operated in a safe manner.
- Identify opportunities and implement actions to continuously improve the asset and working environment.
- Live and demonstrate behaviours that drive a positive values-based culture.
Job-Related work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations or suitable process industry experience.
- Experience working on an Upper tier COMAH plant is preferable.
- BA training is required ICON Production Technicians.
