GSK’s Manufacturing Site at Ware has an opportunity available for a Production Team Leader (PTL) in our Filling department within the PSC Value Stream. The RSC Filling department sits within the Respiratory Supply Chain (RSC) at the GSK Ware Manufacturing site and is responsible for performing a variety of tasks relating to manufacture of GSK’s respiratory products.
Reporting directly to an Operations Manager, the PTL is responsible for managing and motivating a team (of up to 15 staff) towards delivering the company’s manufacturing objectives (including supply chain customer service metrics, safety, cost and quality objectives).
Your team is responsible for the Filling of powder into strip form for use in on-ward manufacturing of the company’s respiratory products. They routinely perform all start of batch checks, ensuring the equipment operates within specification to ensure consistent quality of batches produced, efficient and effective change overs and relevant product cleans. You will monitor reject and yield losses and respond to machine stoppages. The team is also responsible for a wide variety of online and offline tasks, including maintaining training compliance, supporting investigations, and continuous improvement activities related to the successful day-to-day running of the overall manufacturing process.
As PTL you will manage and develop the team with the aim of efficiently and effectively using resources (people, material, equipment) to achieve stream objectives. You will coach the team to deliver against their objectives, which will include daily improvements (relating to quality, line performance, customer service, safety & cost) as well as being involved at all levels with on-going up-skilling programmes for your team members.
Shift: This role is a shift role which currently operates on DANF (DAN Full) – 24/5 (Days & Night shifts of 12 hours). However, please be aware that as the PTL you will need to be flexible. Up to 50% of hours worked are outside normal hours, requiring a high degree of self-reliance and ability to assess the impact of non-standard safety and/or quality events.
About You:
As this role is multi-faceted and includes a high-level of responsibility, you must be a flexible and participative in your management style. You will be able to demonstrate how your management approach will empower your team by involving them in decision making, objective setting and performance evaluation and improvement processes. You will be a self-motivated individual who has experience of working in a complex manufacturing site (ideally from within a highly regulated-industry). You will be able to demonstrate the ability and the willingness to step up or down as required to provide day-to-day cover and support to your team (including your peer-group and your line-manager as required). Experience in managing deviations and compliance would also be highly advantageous.
About Ware Manufacturing Site:
Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products.
