Vacancy: Production Team Leader

As the Production Team Leader, you will direct and co-ordinate the production of fuel cells activities across teams of technicians (semi-skilled and skilled), so that established targets, including volume, cost and quality measures are safely met.
This role supports the Shift Supervisors and Production Management in delivering objectives for a Manufacturing site producing and developing new to world technology, supporting a complex fast changing research, development and rapidly growing manufacturing environment as the Fuel Cells business continues to evolve towards high volume manufacture and commercial success.
This position will operate on a 3/2 Rota. Consisting of both Days (06:00AM - 18:00PM) and Nights (18:00pm - 06:00am).

Your responsibilities:
Ensure both self and team always adheres to business/JM EHS standards, and that production does not override EHS requirements.
Work with team to ensure EHS responsibilities are fully understood.
Supervise employees across assigned teams to ensure the manufacture of products and to perform other tasks within established timing, quality, and cost standards.
Plan and organise activities across teams and collaborate with relevant areas/departments.
Ensure equipment is in full working order, troubleshoot problems found and liaise with appropriately skilled engineers where required.
Performance and people management of technicians, ensuring company policies are followed, personal development plans are supported and where necessary implement personal improvement plans.
Monitors the performance and output of your assigned teams and re-assign production activities or manpower if required, to achieve set KPIs.
Knowledge of continuous improvement tools to support larger lean projects and lead smaller area specific projects.
To carry out/take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Requirements for the role:
Experience of leading a team working in a production environment and making decisions in a timely manner.
Previously supported direct report team members through personal development plans, having recognised high achievers and sustained high levels of team motivation.
Experience of conducting return to work interviews and performance improvement discussions.
Previously worked in a fast-paced environment and able to achieve challenging targets.
IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
Experience of Cleanroom environment, regulation, and processes (Desirable)
Creative problem-solving skills, with demonstrable experience of driving innovation/change within existing processes (Desirable)
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to document and distribute key information to senior management (Desirable)
