Job description
Position Summary:
Supervise and coordinate activities of employees within the Production Department. Monitor and supervise the department to ensure the established standards meet safe work and GMP practices. Responsible for ensuring daily production objectives are met efficiently and satisfactory. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Production Department for the assigned shift or crew.
· Is responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, and HACCP.
· Collaborate with other Production and Sanitation Supervisors to have effective operations between lines and shifts.
· Collaborate with Warehouse, QA, and Maintenance staff to see that their support is effectively directed.
· Design and implement operating practices for the department, ensuring compliance with GMPs, and following the principles of Lean Manufacturing. These practices must be maintained as Standard Operating Procedures.
· Strive for the achievement of Individual, Line, and company goals. Monitor performance through metrics and report performance through scorecards and reports.
· Manage the daily staffing of the assigned crew, accounting for time-off and administering time-card records.
· Maintain a clean and orderly workplace.
· Compile required reports and documentation regarding operations, inspections, deviations, and corrective actions.
· Enforce safety regulations, ensuring safety standards are met and required safety training occurs.
· Work with Human Resources on all employee relations issues.
· Sustain a system of active communication within the department.
· Exhibit high levels of professional conduct at work and outside of the office.
· Must attend all company and department required training.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills required:
· Ability to supervise and mentor hourly production associates.
· Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; be computer literate in Microsoft Office
· Ability to spend 75% to 80% of day on plant production floor.
· Knowledge of Sanitation processes and procedures within a food manufacturing plant
· Willingness and Ability to resolve problems and jump right in to help.
Education and Experience:
· 2-year associate degree with minimum 3 years experience as a Production Supervisor in a food manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish a strong plus.
· USDA experience preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Manufacturing plant environment - must be able to work on feet for entire shift. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Need to be flexible. Schedule may vary at times based on business needs, must be available to evenings or weekends.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
