The Ian Mosey Group is a reputable family owned and operated business, the principal activities of Ian Mosey (Feed) Ltd, a subsidiary, is manufacturing superior quality and innovative animal feed from its mill in Coulton, and delivering to farms across the North of England.
Job Purpose and Impact:
As a Production Shift Manager you will be responsible for managing and organising a team of Production Operators. You will provide direction to the team to accomplish daily production goals with an emphasis on health, safety, environment, feed safety, quality, cost and output standards and meeting Shift KPI’s. You will also work alongside the team in a hands-on capacity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Promote a culture of people safety and feed safety by championing best practices in these areas and ensuring accountability and adherence to Company standards
- Understand the daily production demands and ensure that production needs are met
- Organise and manage the daily workflow of the team
- Train and motivate the team to drive maximum efficiencies, productivity, feed safety, quality and engagement
- Responsible for personnel decisions related to recruiting, performance, disciplinary and absence management actions for direct reports
- Ensure working areas and assets are kept clean and tidy and maintained to required standards
- Prompt, accurate investigation and resolution of day-to-day issues
- Manage and build cross-functional team relationships
The Person:
We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills:
- Strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills

- Ensure and accept accountability
- Hold a full UK car driving licence
- Proficient IT skills
- Experience coaching, leading and building high performing team experience
- Food processing, manufacturing or Feed Mill experience
- Previous health & safety system experience
It is desirable if the candidate also has the following skills:
- Experience in cross discipline areas and ‘management’ role
- Knowledge of lean / modern manufacturing principles
- Experience of process control / ERP system
- Counterbalance / FLT licence
- IOSH certification

The role is based 10 miles from Malton and is commutable from York, Malton, Thirsk, Helmsley, Pickering and other surrounding villages. Due to the location, own transport is essential.
