Planning Specialist

Location (Belfast)

Position Summary:


Develop and implement production plans to maximize the use of the organization's resources including materials, equipment and people. Prepare work orders for production or purchase requests based on production schedules. Monitor production activity and analyze production data so that the flow of materials is timed meet production requirements. Adjust schedules to accommodate backlogs, design changes, and material or labor shortages.

What you will do:

  • Plan the day-to-day allocation of work orders to Production Lines in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve production targets.

  • Prepare work orders for production or purchase requests based on production schedules.

  • Adjust schedules to accommodate backlogs, design changes, and material or labor shortages.

  • Produce schedules and production plans and estimate the human resources, tools, and equipment needed to manufacture products.

  • Evaluate production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and calculate machine and operator loads.

  • Monitor production activity and analyze production data so that the flow of materials is timed meet production requirements.

  • Create and maintain a safe and positive work environment.

  • Utilise a root cause, problem solving methodology in the investigation of non-conforming processes

What you need:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent/ related subject

  • Excellent knowledge & computer skills in IT Planning system - SAP or equivalent

  • Excellent knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational skills from both administrative and hands on standpoints

Desirable experience

  • 1+ years experience in a production, supply or demand planning role is desirable, but not essential
