Job Description : PRODUCTION PLANNER
Role: The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining the production plan and system accuracy to meet our customer requirements whilst contributing to the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets. This will involve near term capacity planning as well as reacting to forecasts for long range targets whilst considering current inventory, lead times and production capacity. Working closely with the production managers they will monitor daily production outputs to ensure high levels of schedule adherence are achievable and realistic. They work closely with the sales, customer service, production and purchasing teams.
Core Duties include:
- Be the Front Facing contact for the business to assigned Customer Accounts.
- Ensure the customer provides detailed forecast and schedules that then translates into Purchase orders.
- Evaluate Purchase Orders received from customers to create a structured planning schedule for Production.
- Plan and organize production workflow for one or multiple products.
- Co-ordinating with Production team on resources required to support manhours of production to fulfil won contracts.
- Support the Production team with reviewing and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay, promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
- Detect and resolve issues when they arise.
- Communicate effectively all production schedules and any deviations required in advance.
- Collect output information٫ including number of finished products v planning schedule.
- Create status and performance reports and present them to managers.
- Work together with quality control٫ warehouse and other staff.
Essential Skills and Background:
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel, MRP / ERP system experience.
- Strong communicator with customers and also internal departments.
- Ability to work well in a fast paced and pressured environment.
- Significant experience with production planning and quality control activities.
- Significant experience in manufacturing resource planning.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication abilities.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £27,453.00-£30,000.00 per year
