What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Production Planner. The position will ensure the smooth/accurate demand planning of production. The planning team will use detailed information from the company systems to generate a workable production schedule and measure performance against this schedule and record deviations accurately.
The role will communicate with various departments/stakeholders as required and will ensure a fit for purpose plan in support of our production team.
Responsibilities
- Champion all things Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People within the Planning team
- Monitor the MRP system and analyse the output to identify any anomalies that present themselves
- Raise works orders, kitting/picking lists for the materials required to achieve the agreed plan
- Monitor/report on shortages that prevent the agreed plan from moving forward
- Work closely with procurement to ensure that shortages are prioritised correctly
- Plan the departments work load and report on progress and risks
- Daily use of software to control the agree plan
- To supply stakeholders with accurate performance information against the agreed plan
- To deal with concerns swiftly and escalate where local control has failed
About You
Knowledge and Experience
- Good level of Maths / English
- Advanced computer skills
- MRP/ERP
- Previous planning experience: preferably from a fast-moving production environment
- Previous management and/or supervisory experience with a developing team
- Previous experience within logistics would be beneficial
- A good awareness of document control and organisational skills
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience of a project environment would be beneficial but not essential
