We have an opportunity for a Production Planner to join our aerospace site in Yeovil. You will be responsible for reviewing incoming customer orders to ensure wee set our MRP system to drive supply to meet customer demand.
Production Planner responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and managing the MPS plan ensuring optimal schedule stability for a given product range.
- Ensure maximum supply stability through monitoring and acting upon incoming and changes to customer demand plans
- Ensure a material and capacity feasible production plan is set to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time to their requirement.
- Provide technical support for continuous improvements of the manufacturing/planning processes and systems driving increased customer delivery performance.
- Review and resolve mid to long range schedule conflicts ensuring supply balance and improved inventory.
- Responsible for driving rate based / level loading projects into the factory and supply chain in order to maximise customer performance and support optimal inventory levels.
- Responsible for the introduction and management of drawing changes throughout the supply chain.
- Responsible for constructing and managing material master data, creating and optimising bill of material (BOM) construction through make or buy process (Existing or New product introduction).
- Ensure all production bill of materials are accurate and reflect the latest drawing issue.
- Drive and support operational initiatives to optimise inventory levels.
Qualifications
- Experienced Production Scheduler from a manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace or defense.
- Good knowledge of MRP systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding and experience of SIOP within a matrix organisation
- Ability to work and communicate in a team environement
- Experience with SAP would be desirable
