Production Operative – Coffin Factory
£12.60 per hour plus benefits
37.5 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 07:55 to 16:25 Friday 07:55 to 13:30
Glasgow G51 4TQ

We’re looking for a production operative to join our coffin factory in Glasgow. As the UK’s leading national funeral provider, we pride ourselves on the care and commitment we provide to clients, and our Glasgow plant plays a critical role in our success. Joining us as a production operative at our factory, you’ll be part of a dedicated team committed to providing our funeral homes with high quality coffins.

As a production operative you’ll support the coffin production process and be vital to making sure coffin orders are fulfilled both efficiently, safely and to a high standard. If you have the production experience we’re looking for we can offer you a great opportunity to make a big impact in Co-op Funeralcare.

What you’ll do

  • make sure coffins are moved safely and efficiently between each production station in accordance with the workflow
  • check order numbers and type against each stage for accuracy
  • support different areas of the factory with tasks as and when required
  • prepare orders for distribution; shrink wrapping, strapping down and carrying out quality checks
  • support with lorry loading
  • process coffin returns, accurately logging all relevant information
  • be trained on all the different workstations so you can support as and when required
  • always ensure safety adherence to minimise any risk to you and others

This role will suit people who have

  • the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • a can-do approach to work, and are willing to received training on all the different parts of the process and workstations of the factory
  • the ability to carry out manual labour and heavy lifting
  • a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • the availability to work varying shift patterns
  • some experience working in a production environment (although this isn’t essential)
