Job description

Pay: £9.55 per hour
Overtime: Mon - Fri (time and a third subject to 39 hours being worked in that week)
Sat: Time and a half
Sun: Double time
Status: temporary to permanent
Hours per week: 39 (20 min paid break and 30 minute unpaid lunch)
Hours: Mon 0700 - 15.30 Tue - Fri 0700 - 15.15
START DATE- 8th June 2022

THE ROLE
You will be assisting the operatives mainly within the clay and glazing teams with (not limited to):
  • emptying and loading the kilns(big ovens)
  • loading moulds onto wracking, and removing excess clay by using a fettling knife and/or sponge.
  • cleaning as and when required
  • assisting with the actual making of the pottery and working with the team to glaze products
  • moving stock
  • working with basic machinery such as having to press a button to operate.
  • identifying and removing any product faults using variety of tools and abrasive tapes and identifying defects where there may be
After successfully working for a period of time you will then start assisting and conducing some of these duties such as assisting with decorating, sculpting as you will be working with clay and the actual making of the pottery.

We are looking for people who want to stay and develop as we want to invest in you, this role is temp to perm after a successful period.
PLEASE NOTE- as you will be working with clay, pottery, and materials please be prepared to get your hands dirty.

THE ENVIRONMENT
You will be working with people who have been employed for many years and have built great relationships with each other. This is a very tight knit and friendly environment to work in as it is a family run business. You will not be classed as a number you will be part of a team.

ADDITIONAL INOFRMATION
Once you are fully registered with us we will be taking groups of people out for a tour of the site, this will also you to have a full understanding of the environment you will be working in.
You will be required to wear overalls. The site have a few sets in stock however they can take up to 2 weeks to arrive when processed for delivery (2 week lead time). You can't work with clay without the PPE and will be required to do other duties until you have the overalls.
