Role: Production Operative
Location: Kara Foodservice, Manchester
Shift: 4 shifts per week between Sunday and Friday, rotating between days and nights each week; total working hours per week: 46 hours
Salary: £11.46

As a leading UK wholesale food supplier, Kara Foodservice is committed to supplying our extensive range of frozen sweet and savoury baked goods to wholesalers and caterers. Kara is the go-to wholesale food supplier for those in the foodservice industry.

The Production Operatives are key to our success in the business. They work productively as part of a team to reach the plant production targets on a daily basis, whilst being vigilant and proactive with quality checks. Throughout the shifts, strict health, safety and hygiene standards must be adhered to, ensure products are made to the highest quality. They work as part of a friendly and supportive production team, which can be busy and hot sometimes.

The Production Operatives will have a good work ethic and will be proud of the work they do. They will be able to communicate polity and openly to their teams and managers, to highlight any challenges, ask for support and give support - you are working as part of team. These roles can be busy at times, which is why good organisational skills and the ability to hit deadlines are key in succeeding here.

This is what you’ll actually do!

  • Use trained skills to complete all tasks to ensure that quality products are produced for customers
  • Support and participate with colleagues to achieve the efficient set up of plant / bakery
  • Responsible for completion of appropriate paperwork where required to the highest standard
  • Complete all tasks efficiently in order to reduce waste, reporting all issues if they arise
  • Handle and package products in accordance with all relevant Food Safety standards
  • Comply with company policy including Health and Safety, Security, Hygiene standards and cleaning schedules
  • Work flexibly and as part of a team to support all areas of the business
