The roleWe are currently looking for Production Operatives to join our team at Histon, Cambridgeshire.Histon is our biggest site in the UK, where we manufacture a host of ambient products such as Hartley's Jelly, Jams, honey and more.Job SummaryOperators can be allocated to a machine/s in areas where the business risk in responsibility is supported by an area line manager, trainer and auditing feedback. This is determined by the senior operations manager and is typically but not exclusively packing operations.Operators also for areas of warehousing : cold store, general stores and finished goods.Semi autonomous in controlling their asset /area.Applies Good Manufacturing Principles at all times.Applies Health and Safety Procedures as a priority and understands the sites values and behavioursProducts must meet all specification and performance parameters and have a recorded and robust documentation record of each activity.Records must meet the sites due diligence standards and allow full traceability of actions and ingredients.Operates in a clean and hazard free work area.Ensures recipes and /or procedures are followed exactly to meet customer and factory specifications.Personal and protective clothing are kept at a high standard.Records settings and samples the product as required.Supports the training period of new team members via demonstrating the best practice of operating and guiding their progress to competency.Key AccountabilitiesSafetyOperates in a clean and hazard free work area.Actively engages with the Be Bright Do it Right behaviours.Follows all the sites H&S policiesCreates no hazards by their activityCommunicates with their colleagues to work together safely demonstrated through the TOP’s talking programme.QualityEmbraces the THINK food safety cultureEnsures recipes and /or procedures are followed exactly to meet customer and factory specificationsEnsure the quality of the product meets sites standardsEnsures all ingredients and packaging are accounted for and returned in a sanitary conditionEnsures all documentation is legible and filled out in fullDiscusses any issues with their line manager to solve problems that will impact the product.HygieneClean As You Go is applied at all timesCan clean an asset/area to site standardsArea cleanliness at start up , shift handovers and in between runs is performed to high standards following standard operating procedures to ensure it’s done the right way.Site hygiene rules are followed completelyPersonal and protective clothing are kept at a high standard.OutputDelivers the plan to the designated time frame as a minimum.Perform changeovers to the site standard and above.Records settings and samples the product as required.Co operates with colleagues and line managersHas a flexible approach to meeting customer expectations and hence the team goal.Supports the training period of new team members via demonstrating the best practice of operating and guiding their progress to competency.What you will need:Factory experience is preferred but not essentialPhysically able to undertake the role, some production operative roles require significant manual handlingWhat can we offer you?Competitive rate of payCanteen and staff shop onsitePension SchemeWe Care employee assistance programmeAnd access to a HUB that offers many discounts from a range of suppliers and retailersAbout UsThe Hain Daniels Group is one of the UK's leading food companies.
