We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Operative to join our team!
The rate of pay for this role is £13.35 per hour.
The shift pattern is 4 days per week - Monday to Thursday (40 hours per week) on nights: 8AM till 6PM.

The purpose of the Production Operative role
To work as part of a team, manufacturing raw materials to produce qualify finished foods in a safe and efficient manner in line with business demands. Under the direction of the Shift Manager and Supervisor you will be responsible for operating a range of packaging machinery as part of a production cell; striving to achieve production targets and being flexible within your approach to work.
Key Responsibilities
Health and Safety
- To contribute and work as part of a safety-first culture; adhering to all sake working practices, policies and procedures
- Adhere to all regulations and standards surrounding company issue PPE
- To offer a meaningful and positive attitude towards the departments aims and targets on Health and Safety standards; including hazard reporting and contributing to safety inspection tours
Technical/Quality
- To ensure compliance to food safety and quality standards, supporting and displaying the right first-time approach
- To promote and support an audit ready ethos and have a presentable working area at all times
- Ensure any quality or food safety issues within any of the manufacturing process are reported to via the correct escalation procedure and to take immediate corrective action where possible
- To ensure that all periodic line inspection checks are completed
- To partake in GMP audits within the process area
People
- To work in close partnership with fellow departmental staff; specifically focusing upon developing working relationships which will assist with the sharing of knowledge and transfer of skills that is geared towards giving the department an identified and consistent method of working
- To promote a working environment and culture that contributes to the work force meeting the demands of the business
- To liaise and work alongside other key members of the department to assist and work towards achieving common goals
Manufacturing
- To be a highly skilled operator on a wide variety of packing machinery
- To work towards and strive to achieve daily production targets on all aspects of performance
- To be responsible for the accurate collection and inputting of data; ensuring that information is logged with the highest level of detail
- To demonstrate a proactive approach to process improvements and work as part of a multidimensional team focused upon delivering the aims of the department
- To be flexible in the approach to working across a wide variety of production processes in order to meet the needs of the department
Continuous Improvement
- To display a positive approach and engage within continuous improvement activities within the department
- To contribute to tier accountability meetings for the responsible production cell daily
- To update tier accountability boards contributing to all levels of factory operation
- To provide and share continuous improvement knowledge and technical skills so that business objective linked opportunities can be maximised
