Job description
We are looking for an experienced and results driven Production Manager to ensure the smooth transition of operations and to meet production targets. The Production Manager is a key role on the site, with full accountability for the safety, quality and production performance of the Production team within the Medicines area.
Looking to start somebody in September 2023.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- You will have direct accountability for manufacturing KPIs and all factory operations including production, packaging, food safety, health and safety, hygiene, planning, and scheduling within GMP rules.
- Execute the Production Plan as written, taking action to overcome any foreseeable and arising issues to successful completion.
- Ensure that products are produced efficiently, that they are of the right quality, quantity and cost, and that they are produced on time and to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Sign off NPI process on behalf of Production, ensuring the process is safe, efficient and appropriately trialled before being accepted.
- Evaluate the processes within the areas assigned to you and ensure that they are the most effective and efficient.
- Leading, managing and developing the Production department's staff.
- Ensure all SOP’s are up to date, valid and training materials are available to assess competence.
- Ensure that all employees are working safely and following all safety rules.
- Monitoring the production processes and ensuring that they are adequate to meet the production schedule.
- Ensure that the employee level is at the appropriate level to meet the production schedule, and communicate any recruitment requirements accordingly.
- Schedule and run regular meetings and provide updates to the relevant stakeholders.
- Make recommendations to the Senior Management Team for improvements in working practices and capital expenditures within the areas.
- Estimate future capacity.
- Assist the Senior Management Team to develop and implement short-term and long-term manufacturing strategies.
Skills:
- Effective problem solving, with a solutions focus and strong technical knowledge in working to GMP standards of operations as this is a critical requirement for the licensing of products.
- KPI and results driven.
- Strong understanding of health and safety and its application in a warehouse/production environment.
- Used to working in a high pressure, fast paced and constantly changing environment.
- Understanding of operational reporting, key information identification and critical issue escalation.
- Excellent people skills and be passionate about achieving results through people.
- Great communication skills and decision-making capabilities. Logical approach to making decisions, promoting the customer comes first mind-set.
- Managing projects and delivering within set time scales.
- Experience within an FMCG or food background is preferable.
- Positive attitude and a professional approach.
- Energy, enthusiasm, commitment and a can-do flexible attitude.

Salary:
The £40,000 per year quoted is for a full time position (pro rata to £24,000 with a view to increase as the business grows)
