Job description
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of our well established client in Market Rasen. They are looking for a Production Supervisor on a full time, permanent basis.
The work pattern is 4 days on (07:00 to 19:00), 4 off, 4 nights on (19:00 to 07:00).
Salary: £26,000 - £29,500 pa, depending on relevant experience and skills.
Principle responsibilities:
- Attend the Short Interval Control (SIC) meetings & drive to improve performance results.
- Complete machine safety checks on every shift and reported actions are addressed and closed out by the hazard tag procedure
- Identify hazards and promote hazard awareness on the part of team members; to include the delivery of ‘Tool Box talks’
- Complete accident & near miss forms when required and assist with the undertaking of risk assessments
- Ensure that departmental staff are producing & packing good quality product that fully conforms to product specifications.
- Complete paperwork for colour, works order, label & material changes.
- Make sure that employees in the area are following the company hygiene procedure, dress code, mobile phones etc.
- Maintain designated production area to required efficiencies.
- Assist with break relief, manning machines if required.
- Carry out tool changes and machine set-ups as and when required.
- Maintain supply of material to production machines.
- Liaise with shift managers regarding labour constraints
- Collaborate with the Shift Manager and Technical and training departments, as appropriate, to support skills assessment and identify training needs
- Take active involvement in continuous improvement projects. (5s/new initiatives)
- Manage process & tooling breakdowns in area.
- Ensure all Packaging (inc. IML Labels), Polymer, Master batch and Additives are correctly scanned to Works Orders where applicable and De-kitted at the end of each production run.

Person specification:
- Significant experience as either a Cell Assistant or Tool Setter. • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) understanding.
- Significant Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, and at all levels within the Company
- Confident in making constructive decisions, challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work.
- Conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities and has a professional approach to work.
- Ability to listen, give advice and recommendations to people in a positive and constructive manner.
- Highly driven, ensuring that the job is done well and recognising the importance of customer satisfaction in their work.
