(Trainee) Herd Manager
This newly created role is a rare opportunity to take on day to day responsibility for a 400 cow spring-calving herd in a unique farm context. The farm is focused on developing exceptional dairy genetics, industry-leading technical performance and adopting progressive ideas which represent the future of dairy farming.
About you
Do you have….
Genuine interest in grass-based dairy genetics and breeding.
Ability to embed new ideas and progressive on-farm systems.
Exceptional standards of cow care and attention to detail.
A passion for the day to day technical practices in a low input grass-based system.
Ability to lead a high level of performance within a small team.
Commitment to develop your own career, skills and technical knowledge.
If so, this could be the perfect role for you….ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years experience of grass-based dairy farming, but support and training can be offered in any areas necessary.
Applications would be very welcome from candidates looking to take their first step in herd management as well as those with existing leadership experience.
Enthusiasm, high standards and attention to detail are more important than significant farming experience.
