Job description
This role would suit a long serving team leader or Supervisor that is looking for the opportunity to step up to the next level in terms of responsibility.
You will supervise a team of 3 or 4 Production Operatives on the Night Shift (Monday to Friday) 10pm to 6am, you will need to be able to show you have some leadership experience and skills from a production background. The role will be to help with planning the shift, keeping an eye on stock/raising purchase orders, preparing dispatch orders ready to go out the following day, basic QC checking hand over with days and noon shift Managers. Whilst the role is to manage and supervise the shift you would also need to be happy to jump in and help on the Production/FLT etc when needed.
Your main role will include:
- Oversee all nightshift production ensuring that a small team of production operators are working efficiently in line with the plans as set by the production Manager.
- Responsible for all H&S for the site.
- Organisation of stock and Preparation of next day despatches.
- Process and Quality control of products and associated paperwork.
- Able to fill in on the job as and when required to cover holidays or absence.
- Work with the Works Director and Production Manager on continuous improvement of all aspects of the manufacturing facility.
- Responsible for site security when required.
Your key skills you will be able to bring will include:
- Management and leadership experience
- Planning and Inventory management experience.
- Organisational skills (Workstation 5S /6S advantageous).
- Problem Solver (Root Cause Analysis experience).
- HR & H&S experience (general day to day working protocols).
- Motivated with a can do attitude.
- Basic mechanical experience (advantageous).
- IT literate (comfortable with emails and filling in spreadsheets)
- FLT License
There are 3 main areas to the business, all based around the production of Powders/Minerals used in diverse industries, the Production Operators can be Machine operating, Loading, Mixing, Bagging, basic CNC Machinist and Forklift truck drivers. This will be a new role within the business, and we are looking to add to our management cover and skill set. Due to the diversity of the products we are happy to train the right individual with the skills to understand and be hands on within the production environment, but the successful candidate will already possess the above skills and experience.
