Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor / Production Manager to join a long-standing market-leading organisation within a large-scale, heavy manufacturing operation. This is an interesting and varied role based just outside South East Edinburgh, within an easy commute of Edinburgh, Dalkeith, Tranent and Haddington and set in the beautiful East Lothian countryside, you must have your own transport due to the location of the site.
Hours are Monday to Friday, (WEEKENDS OFF!) and working on an early / back shift rotation you will report to the Site Manager and be responsible for managing a team of up to 15 staff. Your job will be to manage and co-ordinate the activities of production personnel to achieve production metrics including throughput, changeover times, minimising downtime and driving ongoing improvement, while optimizing the manufacturing process for increased productivity. You will also recommend / implement improvements to standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement in production and safety.
As the successful candidate you will have previous experience at a supervisory level within a manufacturing / production environment, heavy manufacturing experience would be advantageous. You will be customer focused and a strong team player with the ability to lead and motivate production teams. Good numeracy & IT skills along with strong communication skills, both written and verbal are also essential.
