Job description
Production Manager (12 Month FTC): You will lead a team of production coordinators, production secretaries & production runners working across both studio & office production. You will be responsible for multiple production budgets and the production management team.
Day to day:
Manage the production budgets across multiple shows tracking all production spends.
Managing invoices & spends for all suppliers and office costs.
Reconcile the Cost Manager for weekly finance meetings.
Point of contact for finance queries for guests and freelancers, working with internal finance teams to ensure smooth payments
Oversee the production team rota and holiday schedule.
Managing the production daily to ensure they have are handling a suitable workload and providing support where needed
Working with the Studio Manager to handle staffing - recruitment of additional production crew, freelance studio crew, contractors, freelance editors and freelance editorial cover
Liaising with HR weekly about contracts and ensuring all staff are contracted and set up on internal systems required for their role. Also ensuring freelancers are contracted & onboarded onto finance systems & set up as suppliers
Assist the HoP to produce budgets/costing for all programming & any additional content
Work closely with editorial teams to oversee production of all daily programming live & pre-recorded
Develop relationships with crew and suppliers and negotiate preferable rates
Ensure clear lines of communication with the PM team and editorial
Understand key legal requirements, including rights relating to licensing of music, archive and stills, release forms, contracts and risk assessments
Maintain and develop a production pool of talent
Offer support + guidance about operational & production processes from internal teams
What we’re looking for from you:
Extensive experience with all aspects of programme production, especially production finance and cost managing; preferably on live, fast turnaround studio shows, location, single / multi-camera, post production, including editing, graphics, shooting and crews.
You will be solution focussed, adaptable and confident in managing difficult and challenging situations in a fast-moving environment.
Understand operational, financial and legal constraints
Working closely with the JPM the PM will need to flexible with start and finish times depending on what is needed.
