We're looking for a Production Manager to join the Product Social Team in the Content Studio, focusing on the WhatsApp and Messenger official brand social accounts. This role is responsible for all production efforts on hundreds of content projects from conception to execution and evaluation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an experienced project manager, prioritizes attention to detail, thrives in a multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment, has a demonstrated ability of working with a global team to create daily social content across various platforms for an international audience and is passionate about Meta’s products and apps. The role requires an interest in task management tools, strong producing instincts and editorial judgment. Additionally, this individual should have experience managing DPs, varied media formats, editors and producers, strong communication, technical understanding of social media platforms and the ability to deliver and launch initiatives on time, on budget, and on strategy.

- Oversee production process and operations for the @whatsapp and @messenger social content teams
- Supervise production and post scheduling needs for individual projects, including managing development, pre-production, asset and post-production deadlines
- Prepare production plans and contingencies, including budgets, schedules, equipment/technology recommendations for @whatsapp and @messenger content
- Work with app leads, creative producers and agency partners to define timelines and deliverables for all projects
- Manage production/principal photography calendar
- Track and manage production budget. Review costs with Production Lead to forecast accurate projected final costs for various projects
- Assist in administering budget policies to ensure that all activities affecting the budget are guided by uniform rules and established procedures
- Review and keep track of all invoices, payments and expense reports for projects
- Work closely with App Lead, Production Lead and Agency Partners to ensure content calendar is accurate and up to date
- Assign work and deadlines to team members
- Share social content guidelines with internal partners
- Onboard freelancers, agencies and vendors as needed
- Source services for all production and post-production needs, such as transcription and translations
- Manage post-production archive process and content library
- Explain production and technical standards, show formatting, deal memos, contracts, financial reporting, insurance, production and safety policies, wrap requirements to 3rd party production companies & approved vendors
- Responsible for maintaining team resources and documentation
- Deliver project wrap reports with measurement and performance metrics included
- Develop relationships and maintain rolodex of necessary production contacts, including equipment rentals of all types and personnel across all production categories
- Handle licensing and third-party IP needs for content
- Negotiate prices with vendors and crew
- Manage relationship with media and community operations teams and coordinate support requests with engineering when necessary
- Publish all content across social platforms when needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience managing project resources, budgets and finances
- Experience building working relationships with core and cross-functional teams
- 10+ years of production experience
- Familiarity with social media platforms, creative tools and publishing
- Experience in managing production for editorial and marketing video assets for social media
- Experience in managing production across multiple mediums: photography, documentaries, short-form, narrative, music videos
- Experience in licensing, shoot insurance, releases and working with legal on contracts and agreements
- Experience managing multiple projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience working with agencies on campaigns of all sizes
- Experience running large-sized projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience managing external creative and production partners in a deadline driven environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience motivating teams, build consensus and exercise expert judgment
- Experience working with or at a creative agency and using creative tools such as Adobe creative suite
- Communicate and enforce editorial standards
- Experience implementing process efficiencies and fostering relationships across multiple teams
