The Company: (Lynx Precast)
Lynx Precast Ltd is a successful, privately owned manufacturing business based in Ashington, Northumberland. It manufactures prestressed and reinforced precast concrete products for the UK construction and house building industry. Due to continued growth in sales and production capacity we are looking to recruit a Production Supervisor to manage the hollowcore manufacturing unit within a large precast concrete manufacturing facility.
The Role:
Lynx Precast Ltd is looking for an experienced and skilled supervisor to oversee our hollowcore concrete production lines. As a leader in the construction industry, we provide high quality and durable concrete products. We aim to maintain our reputation for product quality and service.
Reporting to the Factory Manager and working with production planning, maintenance, safety, quality and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, organise production and secondary processing in order to achieve the required output targets and delivery lead times.
Main elements of the role will include;
- Supervise and coordinate all activities relating to Hollowcore production.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards and timelines.
- Reporting on progress, quality and productivity levels.
- Manage a team of concrete production operators, assigning tasks, monitoring performance and providing guidance.
- Ensure sufficient stock levels of raw materials.
- Reporting and organising maintenance and inspections of heavy plant and machinery.
- Review safe working practices and risk assessments with guidance from HSEQ Manager.
- Undertake departmental briefings on safety, quality and other topics as they arise.
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
The Person / Successful Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Supervisor, with strong leadership and management skills, able to motivate and inspire a team.
- Highly organised and able to work effectively in a pressurised environment.
- Awareness of general health and safety requirements in the workplace (additional training will be provided).
- Strong interpersonal skills as the role requires the individual to work within a team, understanding how best to request and relay information.
- Experience with concrete products preferred but not essential.
Package & Benefits:
This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours Monday to Friday.
Salary is paid monthly and to be agreed, dependent upon experience.
