Job Title: Production Supervisor

The Role
The post holder will be a hands-on, Production Supervisor for one of our factories, responsible for assuring that target production levels and rates are achieved, and product quality standards are met. And to proactively work with production team leaders, fellow production supervisors and production management.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Production performance – the job holder will spend most of their time, working practically manufacturing timber products, setting the pace needed to achieve output targets, and coordinating the efforts of the production operatives to succeed in achieving these targets.
- Problem solving - to proactively solve production issues, including seeking the input of others when needed.
- Leadership- will be responsible for ensuring production operatives are well trained, developed and supported
- Process knowledge and training – to develop and maintain detailed practical knowledge of all the processes used to cut timber. To train and develop new sawyers and operatives to become proficient in those processes.
- Equipment – ensure all equipment used in the is maintained and available; coordinate maintenance and repair actions.
- Waste – minimise the number of timber off cuts produced; maximise the re-use of timber offcuts
- Continuous Improvement – working with others, to continuously identify and make improvements to the operation of the saw mill.
- Housekeeping – maintain a good standard of housekeeping.
- Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) – ensure relevant safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
- Production leadership team member - to proactively work with fellow production team leaders, production supervisors and production management.

Experience:
- Experience in the manufacture of timber engineered products or similar (required)
- Understanding of principles of manufacturing processes
- Understanding of production plans
- Manufacturing / Production background
- History of managing small teams advantageous
- Hand tools
- Manual handling
