The rapid pace of our growth has resulted in a sales increase in excess of 100% year on year since we were established in Burton-on-Trent in 2010. Building on our success, we are continuing to develop avenues for new business opportunities. Having recently opened our sixth depot in Nottingham, we have ambitious plans for further growth and business expansion.
Our rapid growth means that we currently operate from six locations - our main head office in Swadlincote in the East Midlands, Tipton in the West Midlands, Nottingham, Canvey Island, Bristol, and Glasgow.
Position:
The Role & Job Responsibilities:
- There is a strong business strategy in place that supports the delivery of positive growth. This is reviewed and updated as necessary to deliver, ensuring they are in line with budget.
- Continually reviewing current market trends for new products to introduce or create our own product
- Review production operation and find ways to improve proficiency
- Cost Controls are adhered to and deliver targeted profit growth.
- Ensuring any customer enquiries or complaints are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner.
- Leading your team to put customers first and understand the importance of being the best locally and nationally.
- Having confidence to successfully coach and build my team’s capability to give excellence service.
- Building relationships and trust with your customers and lead your team to do the same.
- Continually deliver great customer service, representative of the company, by making decisions that are right for our customers

- Maintain efficiency through people management and setting performance expectations
- Effectively delegate and supervise daily tasks, maintain accountability for any issues or escalations
- Motivate and support the wellbeing and development of all direct/indirect reports
- Execute HR processes & procedures in a fair and consistent way including investigations, grievances, disciplinary meetings, performance management and appraisals.
- Overseeing culture change and process development
- Lead the team to complete tasks in line with standard operating procedures.
- Lead, co-ordinate, and sign-off paperwork in an efficient and effective manner on a daily basis.
- Identify production issues quickly and find ways to resolve them so that deadlines are still met without compromising quality with the support of the Team; Operational colleagues; Depot Managers/Supervisors.
- Review fabrication drawings prior to entering the production line for correct measurements and specification.
- Develop job descriptions for new roles and assist in the recruitment process in order to fill positions in the fabrication team.
- Prepare a monthly presentation to Senior Management on production levels, forecast workload and facilities requirements.
A Few Things About You
- Production and resource planning to ensure delivery of sales volume
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Help resolve production problems by investigating issues. Help identify solutions and recommending action as part of team.
- Enforcement of regulations - ensure that all members of the team follow company policies and that health, safety and environment regulations are being enforced to meet compliance.
- Maintain ISO compliance with certifications
- Identifying, understanding and communicating improvements to product designs.
Requirements:
- You are confident and able to build relationships
- You will have excellent knowledge of steel manufacturing
- Experience in leading and motivating your team
- Knowledge or understanding of HR issues and managing performance
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and meeting targets
- Experience of working to KPI's, budgets, tight deadlines and targets
- Understanding of working in an environment with daily changing workloads
- You will thrive in a customer driven and fast paced environment
- Confident with a fair and consistent approach to people management
- Able to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively at all levels and solve problems autonomously
- Organised and methodical
- PC literate including Microsoft Packages
Other information:
Salary from £45k
Hours 45 hours per week with flexible start and finish times between 6am - 5.30pm. Hours will be reflected by you and business requirements
