Your role as a supervisor is to understand our vision and Core values and help ensure daily, we strive to maintain these values.

Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

  • Demonstrate correct use of PPE and always follow relevant H & S procedures and requirements.
  • Be responsible for your working environment and take a pro-active approach in maintaining good standards of safety.
  • Be accountable for actions and omissions in your area.
  • Monitor staff for compliance, wellbeing, and reporting. Listen to and engage positively with staff and any issues you may have.
  • Co-operate fully with any investigations or inspections.
  • Bring to management's attention any conflict between H & S and production targets and/or process methods. Understand that a blind insistence on or rejection of rules does not promote problem solving, engagement or respect.
  • Ensure all accident/incident reports are entered into the accident book. Complete and encourage others to complete the Near Miss forms. Fully co-operate with any accident/incident investigations.
  • Maintain your area of responsibility in a clean and tidy manner.

Quality

  • Demonstrate high standards of quality at all times.
  • Be responsible for your working environment and take a pro-active approach in maintaining good standards of quality.
  • Be accountable for actions and omissions in your area.
  • Monitor staff for compliance. Listen to and engage positively with staff and any issues you may have.
  • Bring to management's attention any conflict between Quality and production targets and/or process methods.
  • Ensure all in-process checks are being done. Take corrective action as soon as possible when product is identified as not being meeting correct standards.
  • Ensure all testing is done accurately and recorded on appropriate forms. Ensure all testing failures are reported to management immediately.
  • Co-operate fully with any investigations or inspections.
  • Maintain your area of responsibility in a clean and tidy manner.

Production Operation

  • Be responsible for their area and take a pro-active approach in ensuring the smooth flow of work through their section.
  • Ensure that the work is completed in the correct sequence and that any reworks are completed timely to avoid having any impact on deliveries and customers.
  • Aim to achieve production targets set in conjunction with managers.
  • Regularly reviewing the machinery, processes and flow and recommending improvements that can be made to increase production levels.
  • Monitor housekeeping in their areas of responsibility

Team Development

  • Help support continuous development of all members of your team and take a pro-active approach to ensuring that any training is completed and documented.
  • Liaise with the production manager on necessary training for your team, helping ensure the skills mix of your team enables flexibility to help cover absences and support continuous production.
  • Aim to achieve training and development targets set in conjunction with managers.
  • Completing performance reviews for your team members in a timely fashion. Ensuring they accurately reflect your team members skills and abilities and how they fit in with the rest of the team.

Skills and experience:

  • Production supervisor experience within manufacturing/production, previous glass production experience would be advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing product
  • People management
  • General H&S and quality awareness
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Computer literate for production planning and reporting

Pay: Pay depending on experience.

Hours: 06:00am – 14:45pm. 40 hours per week, inclusive of a 15-minute tea break and a 30-minute lunch break.
