The Global Retail Experience team consists of a core multi-disciplined group of creatives, designers, marketeers, and retail experts who create and shape our retail presence, communication, trade marketing initiatives, and shopper experience across the Dyson global markets, in partnership with our local teams. The Retail Marketing team is responsible for owning and delivering against the retail experience strategy and rely on their ability to develop outstanding relationships with others, to deliver the commercial vision for New Product Development (NPD) launches in channel, and ensure that Dyson retail delivers a compelling shopper experience across all tiers of retail execution.

This is a 12-month, fixed-term, maternity cover role.
About the role
As a Senior Retail Production Manager, your role will revolve around managing the rollout of new product development (NPD) in both Direct Stores and 3rd Party environments. You will be responsible for overseeing the engineering process, prototyping, and preparing for volume production. Additionally, you will manage a production program for retail fixtures and fittings.
Your key responsibilities will include liaising with the Retail Marketing Team to create and maintain timelines for new project briefs. You will also be responsible for creating costing packages, reviewing costs, and negotiating pricing. Communication between the Retail Design Team, technical Design Team, and suppliers will be a crucial aspect of your role. You will manage vendor feedback on proposed design developments, collaborate with the design team, and incorporate necessary changes.
Reviewing prototypes for function, quality, and adherence to drawings will be part of your responsibilities. You will also develop 'Dyson Production Standards' that incorporate standard production details, tolerances, and finishes. Auditing the capability and capacity of manufacturing partners, as well as introducing new vendors and sub-contractors, will be important to ensure efficient production processes.
Your expertise will extend to providing advice on manufacturing sustainability and practicality to project stakeholders. Initiating value-engineering initiatives will be a part of your role to optimize production processes and enhance efficiency. Occasional national and international travel may be required to fulfill the requirements of the role.
About you
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in design/engineering/production focused on retail environments and point-of-sale equipment with acute attention to detail
- Strong understanding of how good design translates to quality and value, always seeking smarter solutions
- Skilled at bridging Design, Procurement, and Marketing perspectives to propose balanced solutions that meet business needs
- Proven track record in cost estimation and commercial analysis for savings
- Highly organized with expertise in process development
- Effective management and coordination abilities
- Diligent and precise approach to work
- High computer literacy
- Proficiency in metalwork and plastics manufacturing
- A graduate in a relevant field preferred
- Additional languages a plus
