We are currently seeking a proven leader to head up our busy production department. The role is based in Bristol and we work throughout the UK, and, unlike many event companies, Bakehouse Factory does it all under one roof! No two days are the same. On any given day, arriving to work, you will be met with brilliant makers creating bespoke designs, writing scripts, devising choreography, and a workshop full of skilled carpenters, welders, painters and scenic artists. The Bakehouse Factory family comprises a large but close-knit team of creators, and a national team of talented performers and specialists who collectively bring our events to life.
We are looking for a skilled and highly organised manager with a love of responsibility, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. With our move into a brand-new premises in Brislington, the successful applicant will have an opportunity to really make an impact on the way this department works in its new location.
Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for design, production and installation of all scenic construction, props, and other set.
- Workshops and sites are well managed, resourced correctly and there is high team moral.
- Developing systems and processes to improve the effectiveness of the production department.
- Work with the client services department to assist in closing of new business.
- Manage Design, fabrication and installation departments to ensure all work is completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.
- Develop systems and process to ensure that design, workshop and installation are becoming more effective and efficient over time.
- Work alongside other senior management to ensure communication and any issues are resolved.
Required Skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Experience at senior management level
- Experience in Events, Theatre or film/TV
- A strong knowledge in making/construction across a wide variety of materials.
- Sophisticated and friendly communicator
- Problem solver
- Computer literate and able to work with a variety of project management systems to communicate with the rest of the team.
- Confidence and patience to manage a team through busy periods.
