Main Description
We are currently recruiting for a Production Development Operative within our Peterborough sites.We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Development Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various projects related to design, technical drawing,welding, welding preparation, painting and preparation, manual tool handling, electric tool handling,plasma cutting, maintaining factory equipment and fabrication of wood, steel and aluminium.
The Production Develelopment Operative will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes and site improvements as well as contributing to the development and improvement of our products.
Main Duties with include:
1. Design / Technical Drawings:
Assist in the creation and modification of design drawings if required.
Ensure accuracy and precision in translating design concepts into practical solutions.
2. Welding and Preparation:
Perform welding operations using various techniques and equipment.
Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, cutting and shaping.
Ensure the quality and integrity of welded joints and structures.
3. Painting and Preparation:
Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
Apply paint and coatings to finished products according to specifications.
Ensure proper curing and finishing of painted surfaces.
4. Manual Tool Handling:
Safely and efficiently handle and operate various manual tools.
Follow established procedures for tool maintenance and storage.
Perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, and grinding with precision.
5. Power Tool Handling:
Operate power tools and machinery, such as various types of saws, drills, and sanders.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for operating electric tools.
Maintain and inspect electric tools for functionality and safety.
6. Plasma Cutting:
Utilize plasma cutting equipment to accurately cut metal components.
Adjust cutting parameters and settings to achieve desired results.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste generated during plasma cutting.
7. Maintaining Factory Equipment:
Maintenance of factory equipment if required
Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or defects.
Repair and troubleshooting of machinery and tools.
8.Fabrication of Wood, Steel, and Aluminium:
Fabricate components and structures made of wood, steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Choosing right material depending on the purpose of the end product
Measure, cut, and shape materials according to project requirements
Assemble and join materials using appropriate techniques and tools.
9.Acetylene Torch:
Safely operate an acetylene torch for cutting, heating, and shaping metal.
Follow proper procedures for lighting, adjusting, and extinguishing the torch.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols while working with the acetylene torch.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate with possess the following qualifications and experience:
· Proven experience in welding and welding preparation.
· Proficiency in handling manual and electric tools.
· Knowledge of different welding techniques and equipment.
· Familiarity with plasma cutting operations and safety practices.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
· Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
· Experience in painting and surface preparation.
· Knowledge of fabrication techniques using wood, steel, stainless steel, aluminium.
· Competence in operating an acetylene torch.
· Familiarity with maintaining and inspecting factory equipment.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
· Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
· Ability to think on the spot
