Following an uplift in production in recent weeks, Saxon Foods is now looking to recruit for various roles across production shifts and the hygiene team.We are a family owned and run food manufacturing site selling mainly potato and pea products. We supply into many supermarket retailers, the food service sector and wholesale. We’re now looking to expand our on-site team as factory production increases. If you’re looking to join a small and friendly workforce please read on below.Roles we’re recruiting for:Production Operatives Monday-Friday 06:00 – 13:45 shift and 14:00 – 21:45 shiftThis role includes working as part of a busy and fast paced production team that could include tasks such as preparing and grading raw material, processing and potting cooked material or packing finished product. These roles do include heavy lifting and working at a fast pace to meet production targets – we’re looking for hard working and reliable team members for these roles.Rate of pay £10.42 per hour.Packing QA Monday – Friday 06:00 – 13:45 shift and 14:00 – 21:45 shiftThis role includes working as part of a busy and fast paced packing team but may also include providing cover for other QA or Team Leader responsibilities on occasions. You will be responsible for completing coding checks on packaged product, completing traceability information, and carrying out metal detection checks. Having a good eye for detail, being a great communicator and being able to use your initiative are all important qualities for this role. Experience of working in a similar role is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.Rate of pay £10.42 per hour to start, increasing to £12.07 following sign off from training.Factory Hygiene Operative Monday – Friday 21:30 – 05:15 shiftThis role includes working as part of a small overnight cleaning team on site. You will be responsible for cleaning all production utensils, machinery and production areas as a team. This role involves heavy lifting and working with chemicals.
