Job description
This role will be situated within the Audit Technology Delivery Team (ATDT) within KPMG’s Enterprise Wide Technology (EWT) function and is a direct report to the Senior Test Manager.
As a Product Test Manager within the UK Audit Technology Delivery Team (ATDT) you will support the programme & project managers by designing and executing the test strategy & plans to achieve a quality delivery of the Audit solutions and products.The role needs to be able to respond to changing priorities and changes in business needs in a dynamic environment.
High level specification –
You are an experienced test manager who takes ownership of testing delivery, creating sustainable and effective Test Strategies and leading it's implementation, by developing strong, trusting, and credible relationships.
Mandatory experience ,
- Have 8-10+ years of experience as a Test Manager
- Proven experience in Test Management of projects/ products using Microsoft technologies including M365, PowerApps, Azure Data Analytics etc
- Expert level knowledge of working on agile test management tools such as Jira , Azure Devops
- Manage, control & deliver End to end testing for KPMG’s Audit products, including functional and non-functional testing workstreams
- Translating project and business requirements into executable Testing Strategy and Testing Plans
- Drive the development and delivery of Testing plans in conjunction with Product Teams;
- Agree roles and responsibilities for all testing resources across project workstreams including the formation of an appropriate testing governance structure
- Day-to-day management of test plans, including
- Upholding the project’s testing governance framework and related KPMG processes
- Creating, tracking and reporting testing timelines, budgets and quality metrics during different testing phase(s)
- Managing issues and risks as they occur including escalating when appropriate
- Effectively co-ordinating all testing activities and their interdependencies
- Ensuring maximum efficiency in requesting and allocation of resources and skills within the project to deliver all planned testing
- Managing communications with stakeholders
- Reporting testing project progress at regular project meetings to business stakeholders, Programme Manager and ATDT Leadership
- Being an active member of the ATDT community and supporting other team members
- Report to Senior Test Manager and project stakeholders with progress, risks and dependencies
- Work with Senior Test Manager to fulfil test resource requirements on projects
- Take responsibility for succession planning and supplier management
- Make important decisions relating to testing within the context of the delivery environment
- Use knowledge from across the wider technology and digital professions, strengthening the effective delivery of testing services
- Possess relevant professional awareness, which may include architecture, continuous integration and deployment, coding or scripting languages
You have proven skills in testing within a variety of contexts.
- You can develop the test plans for the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan.
- You can design and execute a wide range of functional and non-functional testing techniques and communicate test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You can understand & articulate the testing effort by analyzing the requirements
- You know how to make decisions on the environment for testing, test data and tools
- You can identify, prioritise and manage risks
- You have experience with both functional & non-functional testing techniques & processes
- You have a good working knowledge of different tools and techniques for both functional and non-functional testing and can train others
- You can understand and arrange the hardware, data and software requirements for the Test Setup
- You can assign tasks to all Testing Team members and ensure that all of them are fully productive
- You can track, review and prepare the report of testing activities like testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, performance baselines etc.
- You ensure the timely delivery of different testing milestones
- You can prepare test metrics dashboards at the end of any test phase or test cycle
- You can organise & conduct joint sessions with multiple testers & support teams, ensuring dependencies are met
You are a mentor and lead by example,
- Demonstrate self learning and remaining on the cutting edge of Technology to deliver modern test strategies which are fit-for-purpose
- Be willing to operate with a ‘hands-on’ approach, and participate in all aspects of testing as necessary to ensure successful delivery
- You have experience of building a testing team of professionals with appropriate skills, attitudes and motivation for growth and excellence
- You can think creatively, ask the right questions and critically evaluate and communicate findings to a larger team
- You know how to lead investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing testing processes
- You can drive the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements
- You can absorb available information, often from various sources and use it to determine solutions
- You know how to research, plan and coach others within the team
You have an eye for detail and can organise the Testing team and deliverables,
- You own the content and structure of all Testing resources & artifacts
- You can review the Test deliverables to a high quality and participate in approval process
- You can keep track of the new or changing requirements to actively advice on impact to Testing activities or plans
You can effectively communicate your own and your team’s progress,
- You can determine & own your objectives and plan to meet those objectives in line with wider team or business unit’s priorities
- You liaise effectively with other KPMG UK and Global teams involved in testing activities
- You can communicate test results effectively and professionally to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You can organize status meetings and report effectively and objectively for risk management
- You can act as the single point of contact for all Testing related discussions with stakeholders
