The Ware site MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) function provides best in class processes that ensure the product inputs are understood and maintained through the product life-cycle within the wider manufacturing and production operations at the GSK Ware GSC (Global Supply Chain) Site. This entails all elements of the manufacture, testing and supply process from launch through to planned changes and to transfers.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the MSAT Respiratory Product Team leader you will provide scientific understanding of inhaled processes. Areas of work include:

  • Supporting the delivery of Product Lifecycle Management by actively monitoring process performance (analytical trends, including risk assessments, continuous improvement)
  • Working in cross-functional teams to ensure and maintain optimal product performance for the Respiratory portfolio at the Ware site
  • Supporting or leading planned changes activities pertaining to materials, process or equipment

You will focus on a rolling 6 month to 2-year operational horizon to deliver site and MSAT objectives. You will also provide technical support throughout development, validation and implementation phases. To achieve your objectives, you will work closely with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, including Technical, Laboratories and Quality.

About You:

This role suits a self-motivated individual, ideally with experience of working in a cross-functional manufacturing environment. You will be resilient and calm under pressure, and able to influence people to achieve objectives and drive performance. You will have a strong continuous improvement mindset and be able to analyse and interpret data. Ideally, you will have experience / knowledge of process improvements and a track record of driving change. You will be keen to develop skills in Digital Data Analytics (knowledge and experience in DDA would be ideal).

About Ware Manufacturing Site:

Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experienced in working in a highly regulated technical industry (ideally the pharmaceutical industry) with relevant qualifications in Scientific, Technical, or Engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of analysing and interpreting complex datasets
  • Operational knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and testing processes associated with respiratory devices
  • Skilled in the use or creation of digital tools applicable to data manipulation and interpretation
  • Experience of working in a cGMP aligned pharmaceutical environment.
