WHAT TO EXPECT
The Commercial Product Strategy team are creators of the world’s most desirable experiences, products and services, inspired by customer foresight. We are responsible for four key deliverables: (1) Understanding our future target customers (customer foresight), (2) Define the world’s most desirable customer experiences, (3) Deliver customer-led innovation stories, and (4) Deliver the best products and services for future customers.
The Product Strategy Manager will be a key member of a squad that creates products and services during early development stages, responsible for: (1) Ensuring the future customer needs are met and exceeded, (2) Delivering unique customer experiences and innovations onto our future products and services, and (3) Optimising the revenue equation to maximise profit through the right balance of volume, price and product/market mix. With business-wide exposure, this role will provide an excellent experience to internal customers and develop and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer foresight – Strive to truly understand the target customers for our future products and services. Utilise the framework and toolkit from our Customer Foresight team to understand the demographics, psychographics and behaviours of our future customers, driving their wants and needs into the business.- Customer experience (CX) – Work with our CX team to generate world-class customer experiences that excite our future customers, ensuring they land in our future programmes.
- Revenue equation – Lead the revenue equation inputs for future products and services. Optimise revenue through pricing, product/market mix and volume.
- Management of Analyst – Lead, motivate and develop the Product Strategy Analyst to deliver key projects as one team, with each team member taking ownership and accountability for tasks.
- Customer offer – Create the complete customer offer, including the core product, halo model, and services.
- Customer research – Support the requirements for customer research and attend clinics as necessary to drive customer feedback into future product concepts.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Customer engagement – Experience in identifying and futuring a target customer group and developing products and services that meet and exceed their wants and needs.- Customer experience – Experience in CX development by thinking through customers' perceptions and feelings from interactions with a brand's future products and services.
- Revenue generation – Understanding how to drive income into the business to maximise profitability through optimising the right balance of volume, price and product/market mix.
- Strategic thinking – Capable of seeing the 'bigger picture' and thinking strategically. Generation of strategic options through a creative mindset and seeking out new innovations to excite customers. Knowledge of core strategy processes – external (macro/micro) analysis, internal analysis, developing and filtering strategic options.
- Highly numerate – Analytical, capable of detailed analysis and evaluating extensive data sets to provide summaries and recommendations. Knowledge of financial statements and business cases (EBIT %, IRR, NPV, payback period).
- Creative presentation skills – Ability to bring a story to life and excite your audience.
- Prioritisation – Ability to manage priorities, identify issues and solutions using your own judgement and initiative, coupled with a desire to make a difference and achieve great results.
- Market trends – Thorough understanding of market trends; consumers, segmentation, macroeconomics.
