Job description

Salary: Base £30k-£40k (DOE) per annum with potential OTE of up to £100k.

Location: Remote first, with travel as required to meet with customers and attend industry events. Flexible working arrangements, with all UK based locations considered. Our flexible office collaboration spaces, for those wishing to use them, are in London and Exeter, with a future potential to emerge in Edinburgh, Bristol and Cardiff.
Term: Permanent. 40 hours per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE


We are currently recruiting a Product Sales Lead to play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our flagship GIS product offering – Cadence 360. We are seeking a unique individual to develop and execute sales strategies, build and deepen customer relationships, and drive the delivery of sales targets for our GIS portfolio. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a results-oriented professional with a passion for geospatial technology and a proven track record in sales.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for GIS products
  • Identify target market segments and potential customers, and proactively seek out new sales opportunities
  • Generate leads and qualify prospects
  • Close deals and manage the product sales pipeline
  • Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations, and presentations to effectively communicate the value proposition of our GIS products
  • Develop a deep understanding of our wider technical work to enable cross-selling
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries, provide accurate information, and address any concerns or issues to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Provide post-sales support to customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and partners
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, including customer information, sales activities, and pipeline status
  • Support the development of wider sales best-practice across the business
  • Develop high-quality written content and customer proposals
  • Develop thought-leading content to promote our brand and values
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities related to GIS products
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities, customer needs, and potential product enhancements or modifications
  • Provide feedback and insights from the market to the product management team to support the development of new GIS products and enhancements

Person Requirements:

  • Professional, consultative and collaborative approach at all times
  • At least 2 years experience in sales, preferably within the GIS sector
  • Detailed knowledge of the GIS sector and market trends
  • Strong understanding of GIS concepts, geospatial technology, and its applications across various industries
  • Proven track record of identifying and winning new business and achieving sales targets
  • Experience of selling to local government
  • Experience developing financial proposals for customers
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, with a customer-centric approach and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with great emotional intelligence
  • Confidence and experience working with senior stakeholders
  • Strategic and analytical approach with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Impeccable written style, grammar and attention to audience
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Minimum 2.1 degree in a relevant field (e.g., Geography, Geomatics, Business Administration)
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with customers and attend industry events

  • GIS experience
  • Experience with complex public sector tenders
  • Experience working in a high-growth, technology start-up environment
  • Knowledge of energy and transport systems
  • Degree in a technical or scientific field
  • Existing trusted personal customer relationships within the sector
