LOCATION(S): either Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester or Leeds hubs.
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

The Group Chief Security Office has an exciting opportunity to join as our Head of Function/Product Owner for the Security Data Services Lab (SDS). As our leader, working with our colleagues, you will provide the CSO Platform with underpinning Data Acquisition, Transformation, Automation, Analytics Capabilities and support of the lab toolset.

You’ll enable a Threat Led, Data Driven Organization, to continuously enhance the understanding of Threats and effectively deploy countermeasures.
Within your role you will have responsibility for both colleagues and the management processes with an emphasis on:

  • The management of security data to support the management of security risks in-line with the Group's risk appetite, policy, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • The provision, configuration and maintenance of security tools to detect and capture evidence of anomalous and potentially malicious behaviour.
  • The management of threat data into the latest suite of tools and technology, to enable effective threat analysis and protect the Group's data and systems.
  • The development and operation of CSO’s security event detection technology capabilities to ensure CSO has the most up-to-date and effective tooling to manage the Group's cyber risk.

As a senior member of the leadership team you will be required to Chair CSIs on a rotational basis out of hours and weekends.

You'll be responsible for the overall Security Data Services of our organisation as well as having accountability for the Platform Data Leadership. You will cover the strategic oversight and all elements of Data Security in the Group.
Outside of business as usual, you will be responsible for the strategic vision, scoping of requirements, system design, production implementation, budgetary control and alignment to any necessary protocols, regulations or legal requirements.

  • Compliance with any government standards and related legislation, such as the Data Protection Act and ISO standards.
  • Budget forecasting, financial forecasts relating to your team.
  • Leading all aspects of recruitment, day-to-day dispute resolution.
  • Management of partners, key customers, vendors or third party service and solution providers.

What we're looking for skills/experience wise:
  • Line management experience gained in a similar organisation over many years.
  • In depth project management skills.
  • Good understanding of current legislation and regulations pertaining to your organisation.
  • Successful track record of effective project coordination, prioritisation, collaboration, organisation and timely project delivery.
  • Experience in financial forecasts and budget allocation.
  • Knowledge of relevant IT Security related hardware, software and vendor solutions.

Additionally we’d love to see:
  • Significant experience in leading collaborative, complex, transformational, cross-divisional programmes and major change initiatives.
  • Previous success in leading projects/programmes with significant impact on Divisions and/or Group through the whole project life cycle delivering to time, cost, quality and benefits realisation.
  • Expertise in project management subject areas, standards and processes.
  • Credible performer presenting in senior executive forums.
  • Impactful leader of virtual and actual teams.
  • Strategic planning skills.

You’ll be able to lead, inspire and motivate a wide background of people ensuring they’re a valued member of team. Combined with the leadership element of the role, you will need to have operated in a strong security capacity.
