Position Summary
A Day in the Life
- Partners with Product Manager to drive key program level projects, discovery activities, and cross-functional initiatives that align with the Product vision.
- Supports Product Manager with portfolio level initiatives, such as feature gap analysis, customer migration strategies, and cross-sell initiatives.
- Helps to manage business level partnerships, such as third-party service providers and payment processors.
- Assesses value, develops business cases, and prioritizes stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on maximum value that is aligned with the Product vision.
- Drives strategic goals by developing and delivering program level objectives for 1 or more scrum teams that support the Product vision.
- Takes product concepts and translates them into backlog epics, stories and requirements.
- Develops requirements documents, functional specifications, and mock-ups to clearly illustrate product ideas and concepts.
- Collaborates with peers on Program team to continually mature the backlog, with a focus on business value. A minimum of 2 sprints worth of work should be groomed at all times, per scrum team.
- Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Sprint/Release goals.
- Leads via influence and represents the best interest of the company in decision-making processes.
- Conducts research and develops a good understanding of the customer's needs, new technologies, trends in the market, and competitors.
- Acts as a strong support to Business, Development, Sales, Support and Service managers through effective problem solving, collaboration, and communication strategies.
- Participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products, as well as the introduction of products to the market.
- Member of a cross-functional team that translates customer needs and technology directions into product definitions.
- May participate in the creation of documentation or user guides for new products.

Competencies
- Must have strong written and spoken communication skills with the ability to present to internal and external audiences
- Must have experience with project management, with demonstrated skills in good decision-making, prioritization, follow-up, and artifact creation
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Must have an eye for detail and organization, with the ability to produce and track a plan, holding contributors responsible
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with keen ability to deal with detailed, and sometimes ambiguous, information
- Must be a self-starter, with a bias towards action and the ability to develop collaborative partnerships with business leaders
- Must have a growth mindset and subscribe to a continuous learning philosophy
- Knowledge about education and nonprofit customers preferred
- Experience working within Agile development processes preferred

Education and Experience
- 2-4 years’ professional experience in product or project management
- B.A./B.S. degree or related work experience
- Experience working within scaled agile (SAFe) methodology a plus
