Where does the role sit
We’re looking to recruit a Team Product Owner (PO) to work in our New Payments Architecture (NPA) Lab, delivering the biggest change that Payments has seen this decade. NPA is a regulatory initiative that will change UK payments as we know them. Our NPA Lab sits in our Payment Services Platform (PSP), where our mission is to provide compliant and efficient payments capabilities for the Group and drive innovation to enable customers to move money confidently, quickly and securely.
New payment architecture (NPA) is a regulatory initiative that will change UK payments as we know them. Working closely with Industry, the NPA team is replacing the complexity of the existing payments landscape with a new, more efficient infrastructure that will benefit from enhanced security and resilience. This multi-million-pound initiative has a new partnership with a leading FinTech company and is looking for people who are interested in working with exciting, innovative new technologies, such as Cloud and Software as a Service (SaaS).
You'll play a pivotal role in realising our digital and data potential and crafting the Bank of the Future…Here’s what we’ll need from you:
- Product Owner experience ideally within a technology change environment, applying agile methodologies to optimise innovation development and delivery able to craft a product vision and define work to be done.
- Passionate and inspiring leadership qualities, empowering teams to tackle business problems and create customer value through delivering excellent solutions in response to customer needs.
- Ability to think ‘big’ but value incremental improvements with a data driven mindset
- Ability to influence alignment up and down the organisation and explain prioritisation decisions. Furthermore trusting and empowering the team with responsibility.
- Proactively drive the end-to-end delivery of initiatives through experiment cycles and facilitate the identification and management of new opportunities, ensuring projects are delivered safely and ethically, using help from our governance processes.
- Demonstration of competitor and opportunity awareness within the banking industry.
- Ability to move between technical and non-technical terminology.
Would be beneficial if you also had experience /knowledge of:
- Working with Software Engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver technology change
- Cloud Migrations (Private / Public/Hybrid) and SaaS projects
- Payment Services /processes within a financial Services environment.
- Fostering collaborative, empowered teams, nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes.
- Story telling capability, to bring concepts/ priorities to life.
