GSK R&D is led by science and is extending our portfolio of products at pace with ever-increasing variance and complexity. R&D Tech has a critical part to play in building modern digital and data analytics platforms, working closely with internal and external partners and regulators. This presents an opportunity for Tech to make a difference via investing in modern platform technologies and digital applications across GSK’s Medicines and Vaccines Development organisation.
GSK Development and Development Digital & Tech are in the final stages of delivering on a multiyear investment aimed at modernizing the clinical development landscape. In order to ensure we maximize the value of the data we generate using these new systems in combination with the data assets we acquire externally, new teams in both the R&D Development and Development Digital & Tech organizations are being established to focus on the governance and design
Job Purpose
The Principal Product Owner – R&D Global Quality Assurance within R&D Tech is accountable for partnering with the R&D Global Quality Assurance (GQA) function to identify, prioritise and deliver solutions that leverage technology and data to bring value to the organisation. To deliver this the Principal Product Owner will work collaboratively with senior business stakeholders to understand business priorities and user journeys as so develop, own and drive the technology roadmap for the domain
The Product Owner is recognized as the go to leader and trusted advisor, removing blockers, working collaboratively and adaptively to constantly meet the needs of their customers and deliver value to GSK. They will co-ordinate with other product owners to develop a compelling roadmap and value propositions for future features. They work with our strategic partners to deliver, test, and implement these features.
The Principal Product Owner – R&D Global Quality Assurance role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. As a trusted business advisor, you will build understanding of the GSK R&D Medicines and Vaccines Development process domain and contribute to strategy development. You will work closely with business stakeholders to build roadmaps and prioritise features according to business value. You will lead teams, including strategic partners, to deliver features in compliance with internal security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements e.g. GxP. You will help our business prepare for release of new features, supporting formal testing and change management activities.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Degree level education (or equivalent) with relevant large Pharma technology experience, e.g. Product Management for large pharma Development solutions or similar global organisation
- Track record in successful Tech strategy development and delivery, solution design, programme / project delivery and service management, managing budgets (£1m + p/a)
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to influence sr. leadership and decision-making using data and market evidence.
- Relentless in delivering business outcomes, value and simplification with a passion for science and advancing medicines and vaccines to patients
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Deep understanding of medicine and vaccine development processes, solutions, and industry regulations. Particularly with experience of the pharmaceutical R&D Quality Assurance domain
- Experience of applying Agile and DevOps methodologies in an environment governed by Pharma industry GxP and computer systems validation regulations.
- Track record of identifying innovative technology solutions and driving them through to implementation and delivery of business value.
