We are seeking talented Product Owners with strong experience in Data & Insights.

Are you a skilled and experienced Product Owner with a strong background in data and insights? British Airways is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Data & Insight Product Owner. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the implementation, change, and improvement of data and insight products for British Airways, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, cost, and quality.

As a Data & Insight Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in managing the backlog of implementation, change, and improvement of Data & Insight Products across existing and future portfolios. You will work closely with various stakeholders, coordinating the team to deliver assigned D&I Products backlog. Your responsibilities will include funding, governance, design, quality assurance, and resourcing of the portfolios.

What you'll do:

  • Manage product backlogs for different Data and Insights portfolios, ensuring coordination and delivery of assigned products within defined parameters.
  • Establish and maintain effective external relationships with contractors and suppliers of products, addressing issues and negotiating contracts.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with key internal stakeholders to scope, design, and prioritise backlogs for assigned products.
  • Accountable for product processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage a team, ensuring appropriate resourcing, motivation, and skill development.
  • Perform compliance reviews, contributing to the improvement of product standards and processes.

We're looking for:

A track record of consistently delivering complex products with support from Data Team managers, along with a good understanding of Data and project methodologies. You should be adaptable to embrace change and ensure effective implementation, effectively apply supplier management skills and techniques, demonstrate strong skills in risk, quality, financial, resource, and design management, have experience in people management including performance evaluation and development, and possess familiarity with reporting usage and the ability to write basic SQL code.

In addition, you'll bring:

  • Significant product/project management experience in a technical department/company.
  • Knowledge of Data departments.
  • People management experience.
  • Numeric Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Data products, including Data cloud solutions like AWS and Snowflake.
  • Experience with agile methodologies (Product Owner, Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist).
