Overview

Tappit is looking for a motivated and energetic Product Owner to join the product team. The Product Owner role is a pivotal, high-visibility role within Tappit that helps to compile and collate feature requirements from wider business teams, spanning sales, partnerships, and operations. Turning these requirements into prioritised user stories and acceptance criteria and working with the engineering team to turn our product vision into functioning products used by thousands of fans and, major sports teams across the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, and live events venues


As part of the product team, you’ll become a subject matter expert for Tappit’s product offerings and understand the priorities we need to execute on, to help take Tappit’s product offerings to the next level. You’ll need to have an eye for detail to catch where improvements can be made on existing functionality to swiftly help communicate improvements to developers, while not losing sight of the big picture.

It is a role at the center of a fast-paced fintech, with a startup culture, major clients, and a company on a mission to massively disrupt digital payments and democratise the way transactional data is collected and used.


Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop in-depth product knowledge of the Mobile Wallet and RFID offerings to become the subject matter expert when it comes to Tappit’s product offering, to help define improvements and future-proof Tappit’s product suite
  • Incorporate feature requests and new functionality into the product roadmap
  • Keep track of trends and competitor analysis to drive the roadmap and enable Tappit to lead disruption within the industry.
  • Capture requirements from all stakeholders, including commercial, operational, and technical teams.
  • Refine and prioritise the product backlog, develop user stories, and define acceptance criteria to ensure the continuous and efficient delivery of value
  • Set sprint goals and assist with release planning to deliver new functionality to our end users.
  • Ability to help teams manage, prioritise, and visualise outcomes to an agreed minimum viable product
  • Follow the progress of work and help address production issues throughout the sprint.
  • Leverage product management tools, including Jira, to manage & prioritise the product backlog and coordinate developer workload, taking part in Daily Stand-ups & Sprint Planning/Review ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of new features & fixes
  • Champion continuous improvement, through agile methodology refinement based on results and customer/client feedback.
  • Craft release notes, training guides, and communicate these to relevant stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Client Services, Operations, Product Team & Senior Leadership

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Digital Payments, FinTech, and EventTech
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders from all departments & disciplines
  • Experience as a product owner or similar role in product management
  • Experience in agile concepts and delivery
  • Technical background with knowledge of software development approaches and web technologies
  • Experience performing product and competitor analysis and experience in making data-driven decisions, utilising analytical tools such as Google Analytics, AWS Quicksights
  • Great team spirit with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organised, with the ability to draft and prioritise user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities
  • Relevant degree or equivalent in functional experience
