The Role
Lumen is looking for a Product Owner to support creative vision, strategy, requirements, development, and execution across Quantum Fiber. You will collaborate and work closely with the product/portfolio owners, stakeholders, clients, and IT organization on strategic vision and drive execution meeting timelines and budgeting. You will be responsible to clearly document epics, features, and user stories across the project management systems.
Lumen is looking for an ambitious, customer-obsessed, digitally progressive individual contributor to support the product/portfolio owners driving the overall strategic vision for the Quantum Fiber brand. You will be responsible to elicit feedback in every part of the development lifecycle assuming the role of a product owner within the agile methodology. Responsibilities include entering, documenting, and management of epics, features, and user stories (JIRA, VIA, Clarity, etc), daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, user acceptance testing, final product signoff, Operations process development and delivery, and development of clear and concise requirements that can be understood across all impacted organizations and knowledge levels. You are not required to be an expert in the space but be able to understand technical requirements and have to ability to transform them into an understandable format. Though initially assigned to an individual workstream, you may be required to quickly pivot dependent on the needs of the business.
The Main Responsibilities
- Support the assigned workstream portfolio manager, reducing the administrative load of the portfolio manager as a product owner within the agile methodology
- Manage the project lifecycle throughout the agile process
- Coordinate the collection of technical requirements from the portfolio owner, clients, and stakeholders
- Document all requirements within the various systems/workflows (Ex. JIRA, VIA, etc.) translating them into clear, concise, and easily understandable epics, features, and user stories
- Represent the portfolio owner as the agile product owner in the daily stand-up, sprint reviews, PI planning, and prioritization
- Ensure all steps are completed including that the development requirements are met, user acceptance testing, product signoff from portfolio manager, clients, and stakeholders, process development, documentation, and communications
- Communicate with product/portfolio owners, clients, stakeholders, and developers to understand details and requirements
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency in all aspects of the role
- Work closely with product/portfolio owner driving the overall vision of success
What We Look For in a Candidate
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years operating broadband networks, provisioning and or telecom field operations
- 3+ years operating in AGILE environment
- Ability to translate highly technical information into an easily understandable documented format
- Excellent written communication skills focused on technical requirements across epics, features, and user stories
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines, manage multiple complex projects and locations simultaneously and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, individual, and team-oriented work environment
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, relationship development, analytical problem-solving and excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain strong relations with Cross-Functional Teams, Area teams, product/portfolio owners and external Partners
- Self-Starter with superior organizational, communication, and attention to detail are required
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency in all aspects of the role
- Ability to identify business challenges and provide operationally acceptable solutions
- Ability to travel when needed (less than 25%)
- Effective use of PC including Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge and ability to go from concept to a fully operationalized solution utilizing official Lumen approvals and project processes
- Critical thinker who is continuously driving next generation transformation solutions and strategic visions
- Fast learner with the ability to pivot across organizational workstreams

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
