About the position
We are looking for an experienced product owner to take ownership of important parts of the functionality and user experience of our products. You will talk to customers, senior management and our sales, marketing and research teams to understand our vision, customer needs, gaps in the market and the capabilities of our technology. You will analyse user, product and business requirements, write specifications for necessary improvements, and collaborate closely with our designers and engineering teams (including software, ML and QA engineers) to ensure they get implemented. You will coordinate deliverables and their dependencies using task management tools and create and maintain comprehensive product documentation for internal and external users. You will be responsible for ensuring our products provide tangible value and an enjoyable experience for our users.
Our products are used by shipping company engineers and captains to optimise the technical operations and navigation of their vessels to minimise CO2 emissions and fuel cost based on our in-house developed AI and optimisation algorithms. You will need to gain a deep understanding of the domain and our research output to design improvements that cover our customers’ needs.

- Experience of product ownership of B2B software, ideally SaaS cloud platforms and/or products serving a technical market
- Ability to analyse the needs of stakeholders in the maritime industry (captains, operators and engineers) and define the functionality of AI-powered products to cover their needs. An engineering or other STEM background, experience in the maritime sector and/or experience in product ownership of a comparably technical product is highly desired.
- Fluency in the English language, both written and verbal, and ability to write clear, consise requirements
- Good communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong time management skills
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
- Results-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with project management tools, such as Asana, Jira, Confluence.
