Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Product team to lead the roadmap, requirements and prioritisation of work to deliver and maintain a strategic platform.

You will become a subject-matter expert on our platform capabilities, responsible for working with high level stakeholders from across the business to identify and understand their requirements. You will be working on behalf of your internal stakeholders as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team to meet needs of the business .

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will:

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand the needs across our platforms, back-office and integration systems
  • Gather requirements from different business stakeholders, using your knowledge to get into the detail and devise/evaluate potential solutions in line with the strategy
  • Own, build and maintain a consistent, unambiguous and prioritised backlog in Jira, undertaking a constant analysis of user feedback to meet the needs of the business
  • Facilitate sprint grooming and planning meetings with the engineering team to ensure user stories are estimated, well understood and meet the Definition of Ready
  • Host sprint reviews with key stakeholders to demonstrate sprint achievements by the engineering team and provide a feedback mechanism to help with backlog prioritisation
  • Strike a balance between feature development alongside technical debt remediation and bug fixes to drive quality throughout the data platform
  • Understand the business processes that rely on the data platform including the desired state and what happens in practice
  • Be available to the team to answer queries and make decisions on a daily basis including troubleshooting / problem-solving system-related queries
  • Document changes being implemented and produce release notes
  • Promote continuous learning within the Engineering team and Product teams, providing fast feedback from end-users to help steer outcomes in a collaborative way

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

You will be an exceptional candidate, with a proven track record in a similar role. In particular, you are required to have:

Essential

  • Experience of working as a Technical Business Analyst or Technical Product Owner as part of a distributed agile engineering/delivery team
  • Experience of developing a thorough understanding of how a system works “under the hood” and experience of using this to devise or evaluate potential solutions
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at executive and senior level to balance delivery priorities
  • Logical and detail-oriented approach to understanding and analysing technical problems
  • Experience delivering business process change as part of software delivery; using empirical methods to support decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to articulate and communicate a vision, bringing stakeholders on the journey
  • Superb organisation and diligence; able to manage multiple priorities and pick out the critical detail needed to meet key outcomes
  • Working with software-based products, ideally in a SaaS/PaaS environment through full-lifecycle delivery
  • Strong experience working with software delivery tools e.g. Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev OpsExposure to story mapping to build feature roadmaps; focussing on release outcomes and good/better/best practices to help drive prioritisation

Desirable

  • Strong domain experience in SMS and/or business communications
  • Experience of working with business SaaS products i.e. Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite that form part of a larger ecosystem, and understanding and managing the interdependencies between those systems
  • Experience of working in a hands-on technical role, Developer, Engineer

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £55,000.00 per year
