Experienced Used Car Manager needed for very reputable dealership in the White Plains, NY area. The successful candidate is well-versed in all areas of pre-owned operations and is someone looking for a long-term opportunity where they can grow their department. This is with a very reputable dealer group with a ton of growth opportunity and stable management team. This is a new position for the store as the GSM has been handling pre-owned operations but is spread too thin and the dealership needs a dedicated Pre-Owned Manager who can really drive pre-owned sales. It is important that the Pre-Owned Sales Manager hired knows how to acquire vehicles through online auctions and trades. Likewise, the Used Car Manager will be responsible to market the pre-owned vehicles, make sure that the sales team knows what vehicles are available, and oversee recon so that we can maintain quick inventory turn times. The Used Car Sales Manager will also be responsible to desk deals, close deals, appraise, and lead the sales team. This is a full-scale Used Car Manager opportunity at a new car dealership. This is a great opportunity for a proven Used Car Manager that wants a home. Must also have new car dealership experience. It is important that this person is ethical, honest, and professional. Position reports directly to the General Manager.
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of Used Cars along with knowledge of online auctions is mandatory
- Manage used car inventory, which involves researching, purchasing used cars and pricing vehicles
- Maintain a balanced inventory of pre-owned vehicles and turn rate
- Accurately appraise all trade-ins and coordinate reconditioning
- Control pre-owned inventory, car lot, advertising, deliveries
- Meet monthly forecast and sales volume and sufficient gross to meet profit objectives
- Maintaining a professional management style that sets the example for enthusiasm and accountability
- Optimize profit while preserving customer satisfaction when establishing trade values and pricing pre-owned vehicles
- Increase monthly volume and PRU
- Work directly with our employees and customers to develop relationships and help to enhance the sales process
- Provide training and support to the sales staff and assist in closing deals
- Help manage all other aspects of the sales department
- Offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot
- Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses
- Explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospects
- Be a team player
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation:
Compensation in the $140,000 - $160,000 range depending on experience and performance. True opportunity to earn beyond that as volume grows!
