The opportunity


With the continuing and rapid development of tax technology solutions and in particular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, it is necessary to enhance our operational models to achieve success in the future. In preparation for the future, EY Tax and Law have created a new “Centre of Excellence” (CoE) to support SaaS solutions throughout their lifecycle.


The objectives of the SaaS CoE are twofold:

  • Operational management of Tax and Law SaaS solutions and
  • Sales enablement and support to drive the market success of these solutions.


The SaaS CoE currently supports Tax and Law solutions Global VAT Reporting Tool (GVRT), Mandatory Disclosure Regime (MDR) Web and Data Permissions Navigator (DPN) with this number of solutions is expected to grow rapidly.


In joining the SaaS CoE you will have an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of this new business unit, becoming deeply embedded in the operational management of the SaaS CoE and thus ensuring the smooth running of the technology solutions that it supports.


Your key responsibilities


EY is looking for a product manager to help develop and manage a portfolio of ground-breaking products for the legal market. As part of our new Global SaaS business, you will work with our Product Lead to develop innovative legal tech solutions from proof-of-concept to production. You will have broad experience across the product lifecycle and be excited by the opportunity to join a growth business within an established firm. Experience in legal, tax, or privacy tech development is a bonus.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Translating business requirements into a product vision and business case
  • Drafting high-level requirements and representing the client / user within the development process
  • Preparing the product roadmap, and maintaining / prioritising the product backlog
  • Researching current and emerging technologies, market trends and competitor capabilities
  • Providing market insights to and representing your product portfolio before various stakeholder groups
  • Working with our sales teams and Solution Owner to design and run demos, and attend sales meetings as the product expert
  • Supporting our Implementation Manager to define and deliver product support and deployment
  • Advising our support and sales teams of new product features and technical changes, and participating in and running product roadmap webinars
  • Supporting global product governance by contributing to steering decks and driving actions against a plan


Skills and attributes for success


We are looking for people with excellent communication abilities with relevant experience in a commercial position.


To qualify for the role you must have


  • Strong organisational skills and management.
  • Keen attention to detail and quality, holding yourself to a high standard of work.
  • Confidence and maturity to work effectively with senior leaders across the Business Unit and beyond.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time, delivering within tight timeframes.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.


Ideally, you’ll also have


  • Familiarity of EY internal processes would be an advantage.
  • Prior experience on other products would be helpful.


What we look for


  • Undergraduate degree in a business or technology related discipline
  • Relevant professional qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in a commercial role within a large global organization ideally within the legal or technology market
