PROCEPT BioRobotics is a surgical robotics company enabling better patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. With an initial focus on BPH, the company’s AquaBeam® Robotic System delivering Aquablation therapy, is the first FDA-cleared, automated surgical robot for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Aquablation therapy combines real-time, multi-dimensional imaging, automated robotics and heat-free waterjet ablation for targeted, controlled, and immediate removal of prostate tissue. Aquablation therapy offers predictable and reproducible outcomes, independent of prostate anatomy, prostate size or surgeon experience.
SUMMARY
The Principal Product Manager, Downstream Marketing will create and execute global marketing strategies for the AquaBeam robotics system. The individual will focus on commercial product launches, product lifecycle management, and creation and promotion of product value propositions for multiple stakeholders via multiple channels. The Principal Product Manager collaborates closely with upstream product management on new product launch go-to-market strategy and with procedure marketing, marketing communications, professional education, and the commercial sales teams to develop and execute new product launches and the annual commercialization plan.
The position requires an individual with a proven track record of launching complex medical device products and developing strategic and tactical plans to drive product adoption. The candidate must possess excellent presentation and communications skills and is capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders including clinicians.
Success in this will require strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the business and general marketing techniques.
CORE MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the global product and marketing expert providing in-depth knowledge of market trends, product utilization the competitive landscape.
- Develop global commercial readiness launch plans and collaborate with the product management team to build the go-to-market plan.
- Develop and execute the annual commercialization/marketing plan.
- Own product lifecycle management including global pricing, forecasting, and report trends.
- Develop strategies to grow the business and drive share gains related to specific product line with minimal direction.
- Develop impactful product positioning.
- Develop key technical and marketing materials to support global sales force and maintain frequent communication with the field, providing high value insights and capturing customer/sales rep feedback.
- Stay current on key clinical literature and competitive activities and communicate important findings to the sales force and management.
- Keep current on new and competitive technology offerings in the marketplace and proactively develop competitive positioning strategies and tactics to support Aquablation and the AquaBeam system across the competitive landscape.
- Develop innovative strategies and programs focused on product value propositions for the AquaBeam system to both Urologists and hospital administrators.
- Partner with the Procedure marketing team to amplify product value messaging through omnichannel marketing campaigns.
- Develop product marketing and sales support tools that help to educate and train the OR team staff on the technical use of the AquaBeam System
- Analyze product utilization trends, conduct primary market research and partner with key opinion leaders to help inform and champion user-centric product enhancements.
- Define and measure product success by monitoring product adoption and seeking post-launch product feedback.
- Act as an interface with demand planning and supply chain to manage supply/demand forecasting needs and ensure global forecasts seem reasonable.
- Initiate and participate in key customer visits, either onsite or in the customer’s clinical setting, tailoring the message to meet visit objectives.
- Regularly seek and obtain feedback from customers and the field organization to gather information, identify needs, and assess opportunities to help drive marketing programs and input to upstream marketing.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $150,000-$215,000 a year.
PROCEPT BioRobotics is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we aim to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. While our ranges are posted, the exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, location or comparison to other employees already in similar roles. In addition to base salary, our positions are eligible for variable compensation through one of our incentive plans as well as equity compensation based on role and level.
