Global Product Manager

Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 20nn and beyond, we are currently seeking Global Product Manager to join HSBC Technology.
Job Profile
Telecommunication Services, Network Endpoint Connectivity (NEC) domain manages Global networks which includes
- Branch and Campus wired and wireless networks
- Domestic Network Connectivity, including remote ATMs
- Global Access Network (International MPLS backbone), including overlay SD-WAN
- Virtual Office connectivity
NEC has recently adopted agile ways of working, with full autonomy in driving their backlog priorities in support of our multi-year Technology strategy. Therefore, the candidate is expected to have experience in Agile principles and feel empowered to make decisions and adapt as and when priorities change with customer at the heart of all decision making.
This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:
- Primary responsibility is to work SME for Network End point connectivity under (Telecoms) and drive Wi-Fi transformation along with Cyber and other Telecom platforms
- SPOC for Juniper Mist technology driving designing, Integration, Automation and responsible for implementation end to end.
- Determine business requirement and influence solution towards Infrastructure future state model
- The responsibilities entail areas such as execution of production support, creating knowledge base, and producing relevant data for trending and analysis purpose.
- The job holder is responsible for technical delivery of projects by providing technical / process guidance to project teams and be a subject matter expert for the technology and guide delivery teams for NEC across other centres for process/system improvements.
- The job holder works closely with group Telecom teams, Team leaders, and Managers to understand the scope of work, format, and the expectations. The role holder also often liaises with the other technology teams for support purposes.
- Assist Domain to identify service delivery issues (SLA Slippages, Quality etc), post implementation issues, escalations and assist to drive timely & successful closure. Identify & implement actions to eliminate issues
- Organize & lead meetings with regional teams for development or support of deliverables. Participate in crisis call and other global calls for support & delivery of domain goals.
- Mitigate and record risks early to ensure minimal and/or no impact to project deliveries. Evaluate and track operational risk associated with the role. Ensure contingencies are planned within all activities
- Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the solutions delivered
- Engage with Vendor engagement and drive continuous improvement, enhancements, Strategy and Roadmap for the NEC.
- A system engineering background and the ability to compare different solutions to meet a business requirement. Have conceptual functional and non-functional knowledge of some of the following areas
- Network technologies including (but not limited to) Wi-FI (Juniper Mist), LAN/WAN, SDx, Cloud, Automation (CI/CD) experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
· Working experience in 802.11 Radio Frequency (“RF”) Network Design and RF Survey, site planning and spectrum analysis.
· Configuration, design, and troubleshooting of Wireless 802.1x security. Design and support of Guest Access, Location, and Voice over WLAN Solutions.
· WLAN network management tools, features, and best practices, including deployment and support of Juniper.
· Analyzing and interpreting Wireless LAN operational data and leveraging Mobility Insight Services (MIS)
solutions.
· Familiarity with advanced wireless use cases including High Density (“HD”) wireless network design,location-based analytics.
· Converged Wireless Network Design & Optimization.
· Configuring and troubleshooting 802.11 wireless clients including mobile devices.
· Juniper software features and functionality.
· Optimization of 802.11 Unified Wireless and CloudManaged Wireless Networks.
· Configuring Wireless routing and switching devices.
· Ability to conduct training and one-to-one mentoring concerning Wireless LAN technology.
· Review with Customer any findings or recommendations gathered or discovered during the support period.
· Conducting training and one to one mentoring on WLAN technology
· CI/CD Development Environments/Tools: GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Ansible, Cobbler, Puppet, Chef, Docker
· Should be well versed with Agile and DevOps.
· Wireless technology integration with thirdparty system
