We are currently seeking a Product Manager for Point of Sale (POS) Lending to join our fast-growing team. This critical new role within Unsecured Lending is a real development opportunity where, as a key member of the Point of Sale (POS) product team, you will be designing new POS propositions, creating attractive and accretive pricing and be responsible for commercialising the bank’s POS lending solutions across HSBC, First Direct and M&S Bank in line with the overall Unsecured strategy. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new team and provide insights that will impact and inform the financial services marketplace.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • End-to-end product management to support and drive the POS ambitions from a commercial, regulatory, conduct and customer perspective
  • Customer journey ownership to ensure new and existing journeys are optimised for customer experience and conduct outcomes
  • Using data to inform business choices and find opportunities to continuously improve top funnel performance, conversion rate and ongoing product adoption
  • Managing price for POS products across retailers and brands to ensure strong returns are delivered.
  • As a team, managing the product level P&L and delivering the right commercial outcomes
  • Responsibility for ensuring POS lending products operate within conduct and regulatory risk framework
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders including Credit Risk, Legal and Compliance, Finance, Analytics, CRM, Marketing and brand owners to understand their objectives and constraints, ensure buy in to proposals and gain formal approval through appropriate governance
Requirements

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience working in relevant environments (i.e. product management/unsecured lending/partnership finance)
  • Experience in creating commercially viable products/propositions
  • A commercial mind-set with the ability to deliver returns
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to use data to ensure we deliver great customer journeys
  • An understanding of current and future regulatory environment relating to point of sale finance
  • Strong ability to collate, analyse, critically evaluate, and present data and Management Information
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • Experience of building effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same

The base location for this role will be Birmingham, however, hybrid working options will also be considered.
